Founded by Angelo Solera on February 19, 2019, Nuestras Raíces, meaning “Our Roots,” was born from a powerful belief that Baltimore’s Latino community deserves more than recognition. It deserves a home. It is a place that honors traditions, celebrates language, and empowers the next generation to proudly carry forward their heritage.
From the streets of Patterson Park during Fiesta Baltimore to the walls of Casa de la Cultura—Maryland’s only Latino educational and cultural center—everything we do is rooted in one mission: to ensure that Latino culture and Hispanic heritage are not just preserved but celebrated as an essential part of Baltimore’s story. Because we are not just in Baltimore. We are Baltimore.
Nuestras Raíces Inc. is a Baltimore-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to educating, promoting, and preserving the richness and diversity of Latino and Hispanic culture, art, and heritage throughout the Baltimore metropolitan region.
Through cultural events, community programs, and artistic initiatives, we empower the Latino community in Maryland to celebrate its roots, strengthen its identity, and contribute to the vibrant, multicultural fabric of Baltimore.
