Latino Culture in Baltimore
Founded in 2019, Nuestras Raíces Inc. is Baltimore’s foremost Latino nonprofit, dedicated to educating, promoting, and preserving the richness and diversity of Latino culture, arts, and heritage. Through signature cultural events, youth development programs, and community celebrations, we strengthen cultural identity and create meaningful opportunities for Latino families across Maryland to connect with the arts and with each other. We believe that when a community is rooted in its culture, it thrives. That belief is the foundation of everything we do, from our annual festivals to our free youth programs.
Our Signature Events
Throughout the year, Nuestras Raíces presents major cultural celebrations that bring together thousands of Baltimore residents and visitors to honor the traditions, music, and diversity of Latin America. Our events are free and open to the public because culture belongs to everyone.
Our signature events include:
- Monthly Art Galleries at Casa de la Cultura
- Frida Fest — a celebration of the iconic Frida Kahlo and Latina artistry
- Casa de la Cultura Anniversary Celebration
- Día de los Muertos — honoring ancestors through art, music, and tradition
- Fiesta Baltimore — the largest and most anticipated Latino cultural festival in Baltimore

Casa de la Cultura
Maryland's Only
Latino Cultural Empowerment Center
In 2022, Nuestras Raíces Inc. proudly established Casa de la Cultura, the first and only Latino educational and cultural empowerment center in Maryland. Located at 3403 Gough Street in Baltimore, Casa de la Cultura is a safe, welcoming space where youth, families, and community members participate in year-round programming that celebrates identity and builds futures.
Our programs include:
- Cultural arts workshops and visual arts instruction
- Music education and performance
- Youth sports programs
- Educational field trips to museums, parks, and cultural institutions
- Youth leadership development and civic engagement initiatives
