The dance represents two tribes, Chichimeca and Zapotec that come together to defeat a jaguar which has an outstanding symbolic participation in pre-Colombian cultures. The jaguar was a mythical element for many cultures because it caused a lot of damage to herds and people.

Our group was created in order to organize a representation of Uruguay in the parade "Caravana Fiesta Baltimore 2020", joining the rest of Latin nations in the commemoration of Hispanic Heritage Month in the state of Maryland, United States. And to continue working to present ourselves in parades for years to come. Beyond that specific project, we would also like this group to serve as a meeting point for compatriots living in Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia. To share information among all, and promote our culture, customs, as well as Uruguayan enterprises through notices and recommendations.
